Seemed to be reading a little off of the slides but still had some external(not on the powerpoint) information you presented, so overall it was pretty good.

Jamila Reynolds:

Good job! I also like the tips it gives to doing the things that we like doing best in a PowerPoint such as putting pictures and colors. I always thought that the best way to make the PowerPoint was to make it as colorful and with as many effects as possible to make it 'cool', but with the links I am able to see that that is not what it is all about when trying to make a PowerPoint presentation.

PowerPoint Guidelines:

-Should only contain key points and not a word for word presentation
-Not too flamboyant (effects)
-Readable (font and color)
-Originality (audio and video if possible)
-Keep it short

PowerPoint Peeves:

-So many pictures on a slide

Mr. 'Know'lan Knows All

There are several things that I was able to learn from Mr. Nolan's presentation in class about the web and using searches. I was able to learn that not all search engines are the same and that some give different results for the very exact same searches put into the computer.

I never knew about the 'Google scholar' website and how Trinity had something like that that could help one research things through what we had here in our libraries. One other new thing that I discovered was how to search for websites that only had certain suffix to it such as '.gov' or (.edu). This will come in handy when I have to do research projects and things of that nature and I have to use information only from either government or educational facility websites.

Another neat thing that I was able to learn was being able to view cached sites by Google when the actual site is down. I think this is a very cool and ingenious attribute to the Google website and will help me very much in the future.

Curb your manners

I believe that the action taken by the man in the article They Stole An Image of My Son and Just Had To Pay $4,000 to penalize the company for using the picture of his was a very good one and will set a good precedent for all the other companies and also the individuals who never seem to worry about copyright laws when obtaining digital files from the Internet.

When obtaining either a picture or a video, one has to know that someone was the author of it and has rights to that picture or video and if someone else wants to use it, he/she has to make sure that the right process is taken to obtain it. It is quite a blessing for it helps me, write essays and due several reports and projects without having to go through the trouble of trying to use my not so very good artistic skills to draw graphs or charts and it helps me to give some rest to my hand for I do not have to write with a pencil and all I need to do is use my fingertips. I have been using word ever since middle school and am quite fond of it. I am sure that I still do not know all the secrets to using it, however, but I hope to learn something which will help me efficiently do the several academic assignments without as many hustles.

My Computer and Me

I presently am in possession of an IBM computer. It has a Windows Vista Operating System running on it. I had to download it on there because it origninally had a Windows XP Operating System on it, and so far, I've liked the Vista Operating System very much. I has many cool features and the all around look of things are much more enhanced now.

I am very excited about this class so far. What I hope to learn in this class is the many secrets of the computer. There are basic skills of doing things that I know how to do on the computer and hopefully through this class, I will be able to learn other neat cool tricks and be able to home those things and have them learned like the back of my hand.

I have been able to connect successfully to the Y, S, J, and N drives successfully to my delight. My first name is pronounced 'echo' and the first thing that people always ask when I tell them how to say my name is 'you mean like echo, echo, echo, echo?' I always get a kick out of that and just smile so as to make them feel as though it was the very first time I've ever heard that question but to tell you the truth, it's the oldest one in the book but you can go ahead and still ask me that. I don't mind.

To let you know a little about who I am and where I am from, I reside in San Antonio, TX, but I am originally from Ghana, West Africa. When I tell people this, they always seem to have some sort of ridiculous question about the loin cloth that I wore or about Snuggles, my pet lion (In case you couldn't tell, I don't really have a loin cloth or a pet lion, but people always ask me about them). I have two older brothers who are of ages 21 and 23. The 21 year old attends the University of Texas at Austin and is very proud to be a Longhorn. The 23 year old attends the University of Texas at San Antonio but I am not very sure how his pride in being a Roadrunner stands.

About my personality, I am a very laid back person who tends to be quiet when one is first introduced to me, but as time goes on, I get louder and louder, but nobody has to worry because I make sure not to get overly loud.

Here also is a video telling you who I am and where I am from. Enjoy!

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v3.nonxt4.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Dc91c43b0c073c741%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330090006%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D8381BB94B23075827E0E541CD30BBE802D5DD160.79EE0B02C67D0C9ED421038AD21770D090761721%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Dc91c43b0c073c741%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DwWzlAG6QNOnJNmgjXEHVwo7slkE&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />
